Hi, I'm Debbie McGivney, owner, designer, and decorator of Cakes 'n Things. Welcome to my new and updated website!

Cakes have always been a large part of my life, and I was lucky to have had a mum and nanna who always made sure I had a special birthday cake. In fact, my mum still makes my birthday cake every year - at my insistence of course! 

My interest in cake decorating began preteen-ish when my aunt would allow me to put flowers and leaves on cakes at her bakery -  where I probably ate more of those royal icing flowers than I put on. 

Fast forward to now, after meeting my husband in Ireland, then living in NY for 10 years, still making and decorating cakes, I returned home with my young family and started this business in 2007. 

Over the years I have gained a lovely client base where I have made many of their family's milestone cakes. It has truly been an honour being a part of these celebrations throughout the years and watching these families grow.
